 1.  In your opinion do you think that California schools focus more on preparing you for test or for the real world? Why?

I think we have less time to be able to teach you both. Sometimes the tests prepare you for the real world, but sometimes we only focus on the tests.

2.   If you could change one thing about the school system what would  you change? Why?

The Teacher Union's should have less power.

3.   Do you think longer school days would help improve students grades? Why or why not?

No, however i do think if we had a longer school year that would make more improvment.

4.    Do you think teachers should get a bonus for their students getting higher test scores? Why or why not?

Depends, perhaps if the students took a pretest at the beginning of the year. Then at the tnd of the year and they retake the same test and improve with higher scores, then yes.

5.   Do you think the division of money is fair? Why or why not?

..... Sure.....

6.   Should we get the summer off or should we have school year around?

 

Yes, i think it would be better that way students get their better time for better education.

 

7.   In your opinion is the " NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" policy effective?

 

Yes and no. Yes, because we have found the problems, and no, because we have yet to solve and fix them.

 

8.   In New York it is impossible to fire a teacher, even after tehy are accused of sexual harrassment, carrying and selling drugs and many more. Do you think that is fair?

 

No, unions are to powerful, funding money and the teacher still gets paid for doing nothing. Who is that fair to?

 

9.   What do you think the biggest distraction in a classroom is?

 

Most likely dres code and electronics. Too many students on their phone or listening to music.

 

 

10.   Do you think it help teachers if they had an assisstant teacher? Why or why not?

Education

I think education is a main thing we go through in our life. I somewhat, if not fully, agree with the video "Stupid In America". He has some good points he came across, which opened my eyes even more. I think someone should do something about this, but who?

Refelction

The class discusion that occured on Wednesday September 22, 2010 was very interesting. The ideas and perspective others had to share in the class helped me see both sides of the Immigration Law SB1070. I was most interesting when we argued together about how we feel and what our opinions were on the matter. It was nice to know and hear how everyone had an opinion and everyone who shared it was not put down by it but had many who disagreed and put in their share and also had others who did agree and helped put out their opinions to support each other. I learned a lot about both sides of the SB1070 and I am glad i was a part of it.
